cockledoodledoo!
aniq’s first hen party, woo-hoo! :D
well, no one else wanted to babysit him (not even his daddy), so a group of hawny girls in a room would have to do.

we assembled at the hotel and did some nasty things to the bride-to-be.

like blindfolding her and shackling her feet to a ball and chain. coz that’s what marriage is all about, ain’t it! (especially when you have a baby and bring him to a hen party because no one else can look after him, hurhur.)

ayu did a fantabulous job with the obligatory choc-cock cake, almost giving her mum a heart attack when she came upon her decorating it in her room, lol!

wonder which of us will be assigned to do the cake when it’s HER turn, hehee.
not sure if this will be aniq’s first AND last hen party. perhaps his daddy should take him to a stag party instead? erm.

little liver
contrary to popular belief, little boys CAN be quite fun to dress up.
that is, if you agree with your husband’s sartorial style and allow him a hand at dressing up your little darling. hurhur.
i’m personally not a fan of football jerseys (how mat is that!), and what more one with a beer logo emblazoned on it, but there ya go. his daddy’s loyalty to a footie team takes precedence over mummy’s better judgment. :p
pool time
more swim time, this round with alya at her aunty’s swanky condo pool. mannn, i wish i had a pool (AND jacuzzi) right outside my doorstep too!

yes aniq, i’d screech like you too if i weren’t an adult!
in the pits
i’d never seen this before, but well, now i have!

this is my aunt’s third child, so she’s blase enough to let her maid take over most of the time.
i thought it most peculiar and that the maid was mishandling the baby, but the little one was quite happy being held that way. apparently, some babies actually LIKE being wedged under their caregivers armpit. it’s an asian thing. makes them feel, erm, calm and secure?
i’m a little iffy about maids being too attached to my baby, but then, that’s just me. whenever i see her carrying my lil one in her batik sling, i get kinda… territorial and insist on taking him out of it. like i said, that’s just me. most likely that ‘first-time parent syndrome’ thing.
who knows, if i ever have a third kid, i’d let the maid carry the baby in a rucksack for all i care! :D
deja vu
it’s been a while since we met up for our usual tête-à-tête, and sure enough, lots of stories about tit-a-tits, inverted and otherwise, were exchanged, lol! ;)
before:

after:
it’s so nice to see baby bumps forming on friends.
so here’s to more baby bumps all around!
the patriots
we spent two national days at the zoo in a row.
the national day before…
…..
five months preggers
and after!

eight months un-preggers
Mammal, animal that raises its young on milk. Most mammals are covered with hair or fur, and most have specialized teeth that help them to cut or chew their food. Compared to other vertebrates (animals with backbones), mammals have highly developed nervous systems, and they show an intelligence and resourcefulness that few other animals can match. Mammals include some of the most familiar members of the animal kingdom, such as cats, dogs, elephants, and whales, and also human beings—a species that now dominates life on earth.
With the exception of three highly unusual mammals called monotremes, all mammals give birth to live young. Some young mammals are completely helpless when they are born, while others are relatively well developed. Despite these differences, all young mammals initially rely on their mothers for food, and stay with them until they are ready to fend for themselves. This close link between mother and offspring produces strong family ties, and allows young mammals to learn by copying their parents’ behavior.

animals have it easy, don’t they? they have instincts to guide them in their ‘parenting duties’. whereas us, with our so-called higher intelligence… well, we basically smoke it along the way (and screw up a lot of times too, lol!).
cuddlywrap
i’m a really big fan of babywearing, if you’ve noticed by now.
i love the ease and convenience of carrying the baby around, hands-free, compared to the hassle of manouevering bulky strollers. and importantly, the way the baby is so much more easily contented when he’s close to me, no fuss, no cries, it’s like… magic. and i can always sense when he’s about to ask for milk.
at this point, i’ve only had the opportunity of trying out ring slings and stretch wraps, but there are SO many kinds out there not sold in s’pore, unfortunately. thank gawd for the advent of internet shopping, eh? ;)
so i was quite happy to be of service to nad who’d just acquired a cuddlywrap and wanted a demo on her little huda. it works on the same basis as the hugabub, but the material’s softer and costs slightly lesser.
what can i say, i love it too!

voila!

huda prefers her mummy’s booby scent better, but of course.
needless to say, i’m definitely going to continue babywearing (and experimenting with all the different kinds out there) with my future kids!
wrestlemania
what did i tell you about these two wrestling rugrats?

mum’s job scope now includes keeping these two apart and preventing them from killing each other, lol!
gr8 find
mustafa shopping centre has always been our haunt for electricals, groceries and toiletries. the baby department has never been much to crow about.
but we wandered into the new wing out of curiosity, and found something interesting enough to buy.
a diaper ‘wallet’ by gr8x, an australian brand. (them ozzies come up with the coolest baby things!) i think a shop in paragon sells a wider range of items.

there’s a see-through zipper pouch to stuff your diaper changing essentials…

the other ‘wing’ holds your diapers, and the baby lies in the middle part of the mat.

fold, velcro, and go!

good to hang on strollers if you don’t want to carry a heavy diaper bag.

i think there’s something similar sold at kiddy palace, but in plain black.
tsk. the trivial things we buy in the name of first-time parenting convenience. :D
jangan, aniq!
occasionally, mum would bring dadam over to my place in the morning to fetch aniq, and i’d get to spend a few precious minutes with the two rugrats before i bathe and go to work (bleaugh).
dadam, having been the only grandchild/child before his cousin came along to upset the order of nature, is still grappling with having to deal with a newbie.
his primal instinct is to hit the little one. well, shouting doesn’t work, does it? after all, the little one doesn’t even speak his language! :D
“jangan, aniq!”
the little one is clueless, as usual. “wha-? did something fly past my face..?” lol!
all of us, especially dadam’s dad, aka my brother, have been trying to explain to him that he mustn’t hit people, especially babies. but it’ll take some time for him to understand the concept of sharing. i think at his age, he’s just learning to protect his territory and possessions.
in any case, we have a feeling these two will be in a constant power struggle for a looooong time to come…
